A MESSAGE TO PARTICIPANTS

and SPECTATORS

Welcome to the annual Sand & Sage Hunting Retriever Club Hunting Test, licensed by the AKC and held at Scootney Reservoir, near Mesa, WA. The success of our test today, and in the future, depends on your support and cooperation.

There are many projects at the reservoir to restore native grasses that have been crowded out by weeds imported on tires. Drive and park ONLY on established roads and gravel areas to avoid damaging the projects and ensure our continued use at the site.

PLEASE:

 Pick up your garbage.

Do not air your dogs in the campground, picnic area, or at the boat ramps; if you do, please pick up after them. Restrooms for handlers and guests are located on the test grounds.

Stay in the gallery area designated by the marshals. If you are running a dog, follow the marshal’s instructions on when to move toward the line and where to stop. Stay out of the line of gunfire.

While dogs are under judgment, refrain from loud talking and distracting motions, do not walk through the test, and please do not applaud until the competing dog has completed the test and has been released by the judges. Children present will be expected to do likewise.

Keep participating dogs on leash except when under judgment. Areas will be designated for airing and exercising participating dogs. AKC rules prohibit training on the test grounds, the presence of dogs not entered in the test, and bitches in season.

Both the AKC and the Bureau of Reclamation prohibit alcohol at the site

Hope to see you there!
